Friday Links

The return of Friday links! Now that I’ve got FreshRSS back up and running again, I can actually keep up with links I’ve seen during the week. These aren’t necessarily from this week, just things I happened to notice this week.

  • Brent Simmons shared a great letter that his great-grandfather wrote to his grandfather, on the occasion of the latter’s shipping off to World War II.
  • Ryan Fishel over at War on the Rocks draws attention to a problem I’d frankly never much considered: providing the Air Force not just good equipment to train on, but also to train against.
  • Roger Pearse (often a good source for these links) discusses the Philae temple complex, which is home to the latest-known use of Egyptian hieroglyphics as well as the Egyptian demotic script.

That’s all for this week!
