Exactly a year ago, I restarted this website. Back then, I said:

This is the first blog post. There always has to be at least one. (Does a blog exist if there are no posts?) I would really prefer to write as few “meta” posts as possible, but I suppose some explanation is in order.

And then I went on to explain that for that iteration I would just write HTML, rather than relying on some sort of static generator or (God forbid) Wordpress or its ilk. I even had justification!

One reason—not the only reason, but one reason—was the result of always having to fiddle with the software, to be thinking about automated transformations where Org or Markdown became HTML, but which would often fail to be just so.

This…wasn’t wrong, exactly, but it lasted precisely three posts, including the initial one.

So, let’s try this again, this time with Pelican, and I’ll try to contain my fiddling.
