An Unexpected Pleasure

A younger me would be surprised to learn that I like paying bills.

It’s not that I wouldn’t like being able to spend that money on stuff that’s a want, rather than a need. But there’s a quiet contentment to marking things done—off my list—knowing the task is complete.
